3M Health Information Systems Collaborates with AWS for AI Innovation in Clinical Documentation
AI and clinical info innovation
A collaboration between 3M Health Information System and Amazon Web Services was recently announced. It’s aimed at promotion of 3M Model ambient intelligence to boost, advance and level the distribution of 3M’s clinical paper records and virtual assistant decisions. The ultimate goal is transformation of the patient-physician cooperation. This will lead to more focus on a patient and lowering of administrative costs for physicians.
3M HIS and AWS cooperation has a potential for the latter to propel its conversational AI program, which is used by over 300,000 clinicians. The program supports cloud-based solutions by 3M HIS and helps with live speech recognition, which is compliant with over 250 electronic health records and automates clinical documentation. 3M will deliver accountable, complimentary ML-based clinical paperwork and virtual assistance decisions that will be possible to use in the regular workflow and will help to make sure that the doctor is in charge of the data, that’s entered into a patient’s health file.
It will also be able to help 3M to assist with handling patient’s clinical documentation in accordance with the appropriate laws and regulations. The collaboration between Amazon and 3M will provide for responsible, trustworthy and usable AI-powered solutions of sizable value for both patients and doctors. In particular, it is expected that automation of precise, comprehensive and structured notes will take place.
