The new program was launched on 6-th of April and it is said to combine the possibilities of Large Language Models and regular Microsoft office apps.
Microsoft 365 Copilot works in cooperation with the Microsoft 365 customers, that use tools like Word, Excel, Power Point, etc and it administers them with the new tool, named Business Chat, that has access to the people’s data like calendar, e-mails, chats, etc.
The new instrument can produce live status updates, that take into account that day’s meetings, e-mails, chats through the usage of notifications like “Summary of the team meeting”.
In Word, through Copilot users will be provided with drafts for first draft and consequent editing purposes. In Excel the users will be able to analyze trends and design data visualizations in a heart-beat. Same goes for PowerPoint.
The step is important because it will influence general productivity growth. It will also give people more freedom and make technology more reachable through natural language.
They say that from people using GitHub Copilot, over half report increased productivity and spending less time searching for information.
